Selected by means of curatorship, the Paraíba textile company exhibits hammocks at the Casa Brasil: Essentially Diverse show, held from April 8 to 14 during the Design Week in Milan, Italy. Produced in sustainable production chain, with ecological raw material and design with handmade finishing, Santa Luzia Networks and Decoration will be among the pieces that occupy the two floors of the Museo della Permanente – 2,000 square meters space.
Joice Jappert Leal, curator of the exhibition, selected 11 hammocks divided into four models: the Trancê, with strips of mamucabo and awarded by the World Craft Concil, the Xingu with a border in macrame, the Mix TR with a patchwork border and Onda, with fringed border.
The products of the Casa Brasil: Essentially Diverse exhibition bring together 30 companies and expression designers. The show composes a narrative of the Brazilian culture, its identity and formation originating from Indians, blacks and Europeans. Among the selection criteria were products with competitiveness in the international market, especially those related to sustainability, innovation, origin of raw materials, talent and creativity. According to the curator, who is also the founder and executive director of Associação Objeto Brasil, Santa Luzia Hammocks and Decoration deserves special mention at the exhibition. “It is a highly professional Brazilian company that manufactures a traditional product of our country with differentials in design and international recognition. It has the relation with the traditional, the Brazilian roots, the craftsmanship, but also with the global market, contemporaneity. ”

ABOUT THE MILAN DESIGN WEEK.
During the Design Week in Milan, 300 thousand visitors from more than 165 countries are expected. The exhibition is part of the parallel program to the Milan Furniture Show (Fuorisalone), the biggest event in the furniture industry in the world, being the point of reference for the design of the home, furniture and furniture sector.
Casa Brasil takes place at Fuorisalone, which concerns official actions parallel to the show room del Mobile in Milan, one of the most important furniture fairs in the world. These two events form together the Design Week of Milan, which is the largest in the world in public. This year Euroluce, one of the biggest lighting fairs in the world also happens in the period.

Organized by the Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex-Brasil), the Casa Brasil show will occupy the Museo della Permanente, a two-storey palace with two thousand square meters.
